With over 30 years of expertise in the technology sector across 20+ countries, Shashank Samant has been instrumental in founding two multi-billion-dollar global digital technology firms. Today, he dedicates his efforts to leading organizations to success and fostering societal impact through board roles, advisory activities, and speaking engagements. Shashank serves in significant board-level leadership roles at Hitachi and several other major companies. Currently, he is the Executive Chairman of Hitachi America Ltd. and Hitachi Digital, as well as a Board Director at Hitachi Energy. These organizations represent a combined revenue of over $25 billion globally. Beyond Hitachi, Shashank is on the boards of Office Depot Corporation, Rackspace Technology, Eureka Forbes, and Cyderes, a cybersecurity firm. He also contributes to Mercedes-Benz’s Software Advisory Council and is on the board of governors for UC Irvine’s Center for Digital Transformation. Previously, Shashank was President and CEO of GlobalLogic Inc. from 2011 to 2022, where his work helped Fortune 1000 companies achieve digital success. Under his leadership, GlobalLogic was acquired by Hitachi Ltd. in 2021, marking a landmark acquisition in the services industry. Shashank’s prior roles include President of Ness Technologies, where he led the product engineering services division to a successful NASDAQ IPO. He also held senior roles at Hewlett-Packard’s Verifone division, a leader in POS and payment technologies, and played a crucial role in developing Citicorp’s FlexCube banking technology. Additionally, he contributed to the founding of IBM’s first India-based software engineering lab, driving global R&D efforts. As a thought leader, Shashank frequently shares insights at leadership forums and technology conferences, inspiring current and future leaders on the power of digital technologies and achieving impactful outcomes for both organizations and society.
