Maha Siddiqui is the Director, Policy and Strategy for Canada at the US‑India Strategic Partnership Forum. She brings more than two decades of experience in journalism and public policy analysis. Her career has been shaped by a desire to propel change for good.
As a consultant for the Global Green Growth Institute while at University of British Columbia, she led a multi‑phase project on clean heating in Mongolia, working closely with local and international interest groups to map sustainable pathways for the country’s energy future. She has contributed to nuclear energy policy research on Small Modular Reactors and delivered action-oriented reports on immigration during her time with the Canadian provincial government of British Columbia’s Immigration Policy and Integration Branch.
Maha is a well-respected journalist who was a senior foreign affairs editor, a role that took her from reporting on national politics and Parliament to global summits and conflict zones. At NDTV 24×7, she launched the international news program India Global, and at CNN News18 she anchored prime‑time shows such as World 360. She has reported on the humanitarian crisis emerging from the war in Ukraine and covered major geopolitical moments including the Trump‑Putin summit in Alaska, the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Quad summit in Washington, the G20 summit in Bali, the SCO Summit in Samarkand and India’s relationships with China and Pakistan.
She has anchored and reported on Parliamentary proceedings for over a decade, three general elections and several state elections in India covering the length and breadth of the country. During her career as a journalist, she has interviewed several global leaders including, Heads of State and Foreign Ministers, and Indian lawmakers across the political spectrum.
Maha holds a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs from the University of British Columbia (Canada), a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (India), and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Botany from Miranda House, Delhi University (India). She is a Chevening Scholar (Bournemouth University, UK) and has also attended the International Visitors Leadership Program in the US. Maha gratefully acknowledges that she lives and works on the ancestral, unceded and traditional territory of the Musqueam people in Vancouver.
