Luncheon Interaction with Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns

USISPF was honored to host Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns in our office in New Delhi. Ambassador Burns spoke to a distinguished cohort of USISPF Advisors to the Board, former diplomats, government officials, and business leaders from USISPF membership in his recent avatar as Vice Chairman of The Cohen Group. Ambassador Burns most recently served as the U.S. Ambassador to China from 2021-2025 under the Biden administration.

A veteran diplomat of over three decades, Ambassador Burns is a key architect in the U.S.-India relationship, having worked on the U.S.–India Civil Nuclear Agreement when he was the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs from 2005 to 2008, the State Department’s third-ranking official, where he was the lead U.S. negotiator.

Ambassador Burns shared insights from his recent visit to India, the strength of the U.S.-India strategic partnership, and his vision for the relationship going forward, and said, “the U.S. must revive the vital relationship with India”.
