USISPF, in partnership with the Consulate General of India, New York, and ReNew, hosted a special session titled “Energy Security in a Shifting Global Landscape: Building Resilient Energy Markets Across Borders”.
Held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, the conversations on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, touched on enhancing energy supply chains and aligning policy to enable cross-border markets, innovation, and investment, especially across the United States and India, while safeguarding energy security.
The dialogue featured the keynote address from Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce and Industry, as he made a clarion call for global cooperation to secure a sustainable energy future. Minister Goyal highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “One Sun, One World, One Grid”, adding to India’s leadership in solar energy and renewable energy achievements.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Member of Parliament, emphasized that clean energy requires strong international collaboration across technology, innovation, and financial support to accelerate the global transition. Mr. Thakur highlighted India’s strength in manufacturing solar PV, noting that the Government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes have been a key driver in expanding the solar ecosystem and building a resilient supply chain.
Shri. Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Govt of India, touched on the global transition from coal to oil to natural gas to electricity, touched on India’s initiatives in the Global Biogas Alliance, and opportunities in the U.S.-India energy corridor.

The panel launched “Beyond 2030: India Ready to Scale,” a report by ReNew’s policy cell, outlining actionable strategies across manufacturing, infrastructure, and workforce development to power India’s next clean energy surge.
