The U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) convened a high-level, closed-door industry roundtable with the Hon’ble Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, on the sidelines of India Energy Week 2026. The discussion focused on advancing the Future of India–U.S. Energy Partnership amid a rapidly evolving global energy landscape.
The roundtable brought executives from leading Indian and U.S. energy companies to discuss the integral role of India – U.S. collaboration in navigating shifting global dynamics to enhance energy security and foster economic growth. The session emphasized the importance of sustained bilateral engagement to support India’s growing energy demand, and underscored the critical need to advance innovation, investment, and strategic alignment between the two countries to build supply chain resilience.
At India Energy Week 2026, USISPF led a high-level industry delegation to meet with government officials and sector experts to discuss priority areas shaping the future of the India–U.S. energy partnership. As part of this engagement, USISPF led a high-level meeting with Kyle Haustveit, Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy, (now the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office) covering a range of topics including US-India cooperation over oil and gas, notably for enabling power-system flexibility and heavy duty transportation.
USISPF also led a civil nuclear energy briefing with Aleshia Duncan Deputy Assistant Secretary – Internal Cooperation, Office of Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy discussing the scope of opportunities following the passage of India’s nuclear reforms under the SHANTI Act, 2025. USISPF further convened focused roundtables on accelerating the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), jointly with the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA), and a closed-door roundtable on the role ofAI in driving energy-efficient power systems with Emerson. These discussions underscore the importance of policy alignment, technology deployment and private-sector participation in advancing shared energy security goals and long-term economic priorities.
“Energy cooperation remains a cornerstone of the U.S.–India strategic relationship. As global markets face volatility and the energy transition accelerates, closer collaboration between our two countries can strengthen supply chains and support India’s growth ambitions. This cooperation must be underpinned by sustained alignment between policymakers and industry on both sides, which can provide a stable framework for innovation and investment across traditional and emerging energy sectors.” said Nolty Theriot, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, USISPF. “Through the U.S.-India Strategic Energy Partnership, we are creating a durable platform for industry-led collaboration that mobilizes capital, deepens commercial ties, and supports this goal.”
